Mission Drive-In Theatre, 1963

This is how the Mission Drive-In appeared in 1963 as a single screen drive-in.  This picture shows the original marquee and screen tower.  When the Mission was remodeled and increased to four screens in 1975, this marquee was abandoned and a new, larger marquee erected.  The original screen was demolished, and the screen surface was used to create fencing along the Northern perimeter of the theatre.  Note the sign advertising the fledgling swap meet, partially visible in the lower left section of the photo.

The 4-screen Mission Drive-In operates nightly, exhibiting First Run, double features. All screens have just been painted allowing us to produce the brightest outdoor images available. Try it once, and you'll be back.
